I am a freelance animator and designer who has recently graduated from the UCA at Farnham with a First Class degree in BA (Hons) Animation.

Recent work includes a campaign film for the Labour Party called 'Back the Apple' and various film projects for ITV Fixers, who help young people tackle the problems they care about.

Introduction

I am a freelance animator with a First-Class BA (Hons) degree in Animation from the UCA at Farnham. Reliable, ambitious and enthusiastic, I have an eye for detail and a strong sense of visual design. I am passionate about all things creative.

Recent work includes the 'Back the Apple' campaign film for the Labour Party, official music video for Denver based band DeVotchKa and various film projects for ITV Fixers, who help young people tackle the issues that they care about, enabling them to express themselves to a wider audience through film.

Animation:

'Back the Apple' - Animation of a short film, voiced by Tony Robinson, to promote the Back the Apple campaign for The Labour Party and Unite the Union.

'100 Other Lovers' - Direction and animation of stop motion and mixed media offical music video for DeVotchKa .

ITV Fixers - I worked on a number of films targeted at young people, and animated in a 2D style. Topics include bullying, littering, grooming, and young carers.

'Saturday Stables' - Animated stop motion-talking horse for childrens television show.

'Short Film Suitcase' - Short introduction sting for a screening event in London.

'Freelancing at Castlecross Studio I worked on a variety of projects, including 2D promotional web shorts for Blagdon Studios and Northern Mail. I also designed and animated various web banners and motion graphics..

In April 2010 I participated in the organisation of animation workshops for children at

The Lightbox Art Gallery in Woking.

I have designed a variety of branding schemes, which include designs for chef Anthony Brown and the styling of a promotional photography shoot for jeweller Kirsty Taylor.

Logo designs include 1st4webshops.com, the NDSO and charity organisations SWIWSCO and IREAD.

My book illustration portfolio includes work for Ergo Press, Northern Heritage and historian John Sadler in a pen and ink style.

I am avaliable for commissioned artwork and illustrations.

Achievements

'Skyhound' was selected as one of the winners of the Red Bull Canimation competition.

My '100 Other Lovers' music video for DeVotchKa was selected to be part of the BBC Music Video Festival 2011 and one of only 12 that gained a full national screening on all BBC Big Screens.

As part of an IdeasTap competition, ‘Smile’ was selected for screening at the Barbican in London during summer 2011.

Winning ‘Best Animated Film’ at London film festival Screentest with ‘Sprinkles’ and winning UCA ‘Best Character’ award for my final film ‘Smile.’

One of only six shortlisted for the Museums at Night 2010 competition with my 20 second animated short.

Awarded 6th Form Art and Design scholarship and recieved one of the top five marks in the country for both A-Level Art and Graphics..

27th September

The animated film for the 'Back the Apple' campaign, voiced by Tony Robinson, was launched at the Labour Party conference in Liverpool today.

Berwick

20th September

Smile was shown at The Maltings in Berwick as part of The Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival at the weekend. The screening was followed by a short Q&A session.

Mini Cine

16th August Screenings

Both Sprinkles and Smile were shown last night at Odder's Mini Cini Picture Show in Manchester.

Smile has also been selected to be screened in competition at the 7th Film Fest Eberswalde in Germany on the 3rd October and St Petersburg festival 'Beginning' on 5th October.

Mobile cinema

As part of Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival my films Smile and Sprinkles are to be shown at Coldstream and Eyemouth in the UKs only mobile cinema on the 9th and 11th July.
